Tags and QR Codes
 
Both Tags and QR codes are part of the "two-dimensional barcode" family. They evolved from the common barcode you see on a daily basis. But, these codes can store a lot more information. The codes are interpreted by software applications that use a scanner or camera to make sense of the arranged squares, dots, or triangles.
 
Consumers with smart phones can easily install apps to read Tags and QR codes. The codes can be used to display a message, prompt the sending of a text or email, launch a web page, effortlessly add a vCard to a users contacts, and more.
